Privacy Policy

The short version: this site collects almost nothing about you.

Effective date: September 7, 2026. This policy applies to the website deskfengshui.com (the "Site"), which is run by Desk Feng Shui ("we," "us"). Please read it alongside our About and Contact pages.

Bottom line: Desk Feng Shui has no user accounts, no login, no comment forms, no checkout, and no newsletter signups. Because we have nothing for you to type into, we have almost nothing that could identify you — and we intend to keep it that way.

1. What we collect

Information you provide

The only information you can provide to us is a message you choose to send to hello@deskfengshui.com — for example, a correction or a topic request. If you email us, we keep only what you write (including your email address as the return address) so we can reply. We do not add you to any list, sell your address, or use it for anything other than answering you.

What happens on our calculator

Our Kua number calculator runs entirely in your web browser. The birth year and gender you enter are never sent to our servers, never stored, and never shared. Close the tab and they are gone.

Automatically collected data

We do not run analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or visitor tracking of any kind. We do not set cookies for advertising, personalization, or cross-site tracking. When you load a page, standard server logs (such as an IP address, browser type, and the page requested) may be briefly held by our hosting provider for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these logs to build profiles or identify individual visitors, and they are not sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

2. How we use and share information

We use the limited information above only to (a) respond to messages you send us, and (b) operate and secure the Site. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing. We may disclose information only if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users or the public.

3. Cookies

We do not use cookies for advertising, analytics, or personalization. The Site's hosting infrastructure may set a technical, strictly necessary cookie or cache indicator required to serve the page reliably; these do not track you across sites and are not used for any commercial purpose.

4. Do Not Track

Because we do not collect or use data for cross-site tracking in the first place, we have nothing to change based on your browser's Do Not Track signal. Your preference is respected by default: no tracking happens at all.

5. California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you certain rights over "personal information." To be direct about where we stand: because Desk Feng Shui does not collect, sell, or share the categories of personal information those laws are most concerned with, most of these rights will have nothing to act upon in practice. But we honor them in full:

  • The right to know. You may ask what personal information we have collected about you, including its categories, sources, purposes, and any third parties it was shared with. In almost every case the honest answer is "none identifying you."
  • The right to delete. You may ask us to delete any personal information we hold about you. If you have emailed us and want your message deleted, just say so and we will remove it.
  • The right to opt out of sale and sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will never do so without giving you a clear, up-front choice.
  • The right to correct. You may ask us to correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • The right to limit sensitive data. We do not collect or use "sensitive" personal information as defined by the CPRA.
  • The right to non-discrimination. We will never deny services, charge different prices, or treat you differently for exercising any privacy right.
  • Shine the Light (California Civil Code § 1798.83). California law entitles residents to ask, once a year, how we have shared their personal information with third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes. We do not do this, and we will answer such a request in writing.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@deskfengshui.com. We will verify your identity as reasonably necessary and respond within the time the law requires (generally 45 days). You may also use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

6. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data retention and security

Any email you send us is kept only as long as needed to handle your message and any reasonable follow-up. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the little information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we keep our exposure minimal by design.

8. Third-party links

Our guides may link to other websites for further reading. This policy applies only to deskfengshui.com; once you leave our Site, that site's own privacy practices apply. We recommend checking any site's policy before you share information with it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page and note the change here. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

10. Contact
